Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why is there a fee for basic travel planning and concierge services but not for the full service travel agent?

A: The full service travel agent works on commission from the vendors they work with to book your vacation. When make reservations yourself, or you hire them to be your personal concierge for the duration of your trip, that person does not earn commissions and therefore needs to be compensated for their time and expertise.

Q: Why is the travel concierge service so expensive?

A: Grandeur Travel Planning is a one person company and the concierge fee covers the lost revenue for the week of travel dedicated to clients who choose to have me be their travel guide since I will be 100% focused on that clients trip and not planning vacations for other clients during that period of time.

Q: What is a travel week?

A: We understand that for most people vacation begins when you finish your last day of work, and ends when you return home. For most, that means vacations often start Friday evening and end the following Sunday which is a 10 day period of time. With this in mind, our fees cover up to 10 days of travel planning. Any trip exceeding 10 days of travel will require additional fees.

Q: How long will it take to get my vacation plan?

A: Once the initial consultation is completed, it  will take 5-10 business days depending on the length and complexity of your trip.

Q: Does the initial consultation really take 1 hour?

A: No. It usually takes less than 30 minutes depending on the length and complexity of the trip you want to take. One full hour is scheduled to ensure that there is more than enough time to discuss all the details of your trip and answer all your questions fully. Any remaining time after the consultation has ended will be dedicated to beginning the initial research for your trip.

Q: Does the initial consultation cost anything?

A: No. The initial consultation is completely free.
